Ich habe gestern Abend mal wieder bei androidpit.de vorbei geschaut und da finde ich doch diesen Artikel.
Zugegeben, BumpTop gibt es schon länger. Es handelt sich bei dem Programm um eine 3D Oberfläche des Desktops. Interessant ist aber, dass Google das Unternehmen nun gekauft hat und auf der Internetseite des Unternehmens kurz nach dem Kauf zu sehen war, dass die Entwicklung für Mac und Windows nun eingestellt wird und der Download des Programms nur noch bis zum 07. Mai 2010 möglich ist. Es wird keinerlei weiteren Support und Updates für das Programm geben.
Da in der Szene bekannt ist, dass Google evtl. an einem Android Tablet arbeitet, beginnen hier die Spekulationen von Michael Dunstheimer. Es könnte durchaus möglich sein, dass Google diese Technik für das Tablet exklusiv weiter entwickeln will. Vielleicht will man sich aber auch nur des Know-Hows und der Technologien bedienen. Interessant ist es allemal und ich habe es mir runter geladen um es einmal eingehend zu testen, da es auch mit der Maus bedient werden kann. Es gibt ein Video zur Bedienung von BumpTop mit den Fingern auf YouTube, dass ich am Ende des Artikels zeigen werde.
Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen, sollte er Interesse an diesem Programm haben, dieses einmal auszuprobieren und sich das Video anzusehen. Sollte sich diese Entwicklung bewahrheiten finde ich das es eine weitere bahnbrechende Entwicklung für den Tablet-Markt ist und bin jetzt schon gespannt darauf dieses UI auszuprobieren. Natürlich würde dies zu einer weiteren Konkurrenz des iPad und WeTab führen, aber da das WeTab Open Source ist, stellt sich die Frage, ob man dieses UI auch auf ein WeTab installiert bekommt. (Ich bin technisch zu unbegabt aber wenn es auf Android basiert sollte es doch grundsätzlich möglich sein). Zusätzlich steigt die Spannung, wie das Google-Tablet aussieht und wie es zu bedienen ist.
