Ich habe gerade einen interessanten Artikel auf FTD.de gefunden. Dieser ist von heute Morgen. FTD hat ebenfalls am Sonntag ein WeTab testen dürfen und schreibt nun auch, dass es funktioniert.

Die FTD hat das WeTab vorab getestet und das Ergebnis ist vielversprechend: Der berührungsempfindliche Bildschirm funktioniert, im Hintergrund läuft das offene Betriebssystem Linux, die mobile Softwarevariante Android ist auch aufgespielt. Ein USB-Anschluss erlaubt den einfachen Austausch von Musik oder Fotos.Namen von Handelspartnern nennt Hoffer von Ankershoffen nicht. „Wir sprechen mit ganz vielen Unternehmen“, sagt er nur. Ohnehin äußert sich der 37-Jährige zu Geschäftskontakten ungern. Umgekehrt äußert sich derzeit kaum ein potenzieller Partner gern zu Neofonie. Der Schock der peinlichen ersten Präsentation sitzt tief. Allein der Schweizer Ringier Verlag und der Verlag Gruner + Jahr, zu dem auch die FTD gehört, stellen sich öffentlich noch hinter Neofonie. Die Berliner produzieren für den „Stern“ und die Schweizer Boulevardzeitung „Blick“ je eine elektronische Version. Andere Unternehmen wollen sich nicht bekennen. Hoffer von Ankershoffen müsse erst beweisen, dass neben der Software auch die Hardware laufe, heißt es zur Begründung. Dabei gab es vor der vermasselten Pressekonferenz viele Gespräche.
Aus einer Präsentation, die der FTD vorliegt, geht hervor, dass sich Mobilfunkkonzerne wie die Deutsche Telekom und Vodafone für das Tablet interessieren. Der Axel Springer Verlag taucht als Inhalteanbieter auf, und auch Telefunken, das Unternehmen mit dem Traditionsnamen, ist interessiert. Bis auf Telefunken mag aber niemand auch nur Gespräche bestätigen. Telefunken wollte mit dem Startup 4tiitoo ein Tablet auf den Markt bringen. 4tiitoo schloss sich allerdings Anfang April mit Neofonie zum Gemeinschaftsunternehmen WeTab AG zusammen. Unmittelbar vor der Pressekonferenz soll Telefunken-Vorstandschef Hemjö Klein noch vorgeschlagen haben, dass auf dem Tablet der Markenname Telefunken stehe und nicht WeTab. Doch Hoffer van Ankershoffen war dagegen. „Ich habe darin keinen Vorteil gesehen“, sagt er. Allerdings lizensiert Telefunken den Markennamen unter anderem für TV-Geräte an Großhändler und Hersteller. „Wir werden in diesem Jahr noch ein eigenes Gerät auf den Markt bringen“, sagt Klein der FTD. „Wir haben Vertriebsstrukturen und können Tablets in 102 Ländern verteilen“, betont der Ex-Lufthansa-Vorstand. Ob dies das Berliner Unternehmen könne, wisse er nicht. Ein anfangs interessierter PC-Hersteller, der Lidl-Lieferant Targa, sei auch nicht mehr im Rennen.Hoffer von Ankershoffen will erst diese Woche seinen Vertriebspartner bekannt machen. Dann könnten erste Bestellungen auf einer Website gesammelt werden.Die ersten Proben haben am Sonntag geklappt. Funktioniert der Touchscreen am Montag und auch das Betriebssystem, dürften die WeTab-Fangemeinde sowie vor allem die potenziellen Partner wieder näher an das Unternehmen heranrücken. Falls nicht, wird Helmut Hoffer von Ankershoffen wohl seine letzte WeTab-Vorstellung gegeben haben.
Das sind ja mal interessante Neuigkeiten, die die FTD da bekannt gibt. So war also Telefunken eine ganze Zeit lang im Gespräch und anscheinend auch im Boot. Zusätzlich hat man sich mit Targa (Lidl) intensiv unterhalten. Das Vodafone und die Telekom nach diesen Geräten greifen wollen ist mir fast klar. Wichtig ist aber, dass das WeTab auch bei FTD funktioniert hat und es keine bösen Überraschungen gab. Jetzt bin ich erst recht gespannt, was heute Nachmittag an Berichten ins Haus flattern wird.
